The Holtville, California, Church of the Nazarene had been experiencing declining attendance at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The salvation and baptism of a new member drastically changed the outlook of the church, helping to bring new life.

Charles Johnson, 83, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away 12 January 2022. He was the pastor of Fitkins Memorial Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years, and a key figure in the American Civil Rights Movement.

Pastor Kyle DeLong became sober in a North Pastor Kyle DeLong became sober in a North Carolina prison in 2006 after battling addictions to drugs and alcohol for most of his life. Now, 15 years later, DeLong is using his freedom from past addictions to reach others who face similar struggles.

Gregory Story, 63, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away 14 December 2021 after a battle with cancer. He was the superintendent of the Alabama North District, a role he’s held since 2013.

An outbreak of tornadoes plowed through five states on 10 December, killing dozens and leaving thousands without water, heat, or electricity. The First Church of the Nazarene in Mayfield, Kentucky, served as a storm shelter the night of the tornadoes and has since become a Red Cross shelter for residents impacted by the storm.
