
South America Region ordains over 250 pastors, deacons
The Church of the Nazarene’s South America Region has held ordination services since October 2021 in different countries of the region, ordaining 253 men and women as pastors and deacons.

The Sierra Centro District in Ecuador distributed more than 7,000 tablets to children from churches around the district. The tablets were acquired as part of a district strategy for the holistic development of children in this part of the country.

Torrential rainfall caused flooding on 31 January in the areas of La Comuna and La Gasca near Quito, Ecuador. Members of Iglesia del Nazareno Restauración aided the victims with both physical and emotional support.

The Riobamba Norte Iglesia Del Nazareno in Ecuador baptized 36 people at the Sierra Centro District facilities. The baptisms were the fruit of evangelism and discipleship among several families who have experienced miracles of healing and provision in this COVID-19 pandemic.

Nazarene Theological Seminary of South America celebrated its 32nd graduation ceremony at the end of 2020. Thirty-three students from Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela received degrees.

The church in Cumandá, Ecuador, is moving forward by constructing a place of worship for a church plant. The unique building is designed specifically so that residents can worship outside during the pandemic.

Children of missionaries serving on the South America Region met in different countries to celebrate Reformation Day, sharing what they learned about Martin Luther’s theses and theology.
