Beryl Edwards, 87, de Wirral, Inglaterra, Reino Unido, faleceu em 23 de novembro de 2025. Ela era uma missionária aposentada que serviu na Argentina, Paraguai e Espanha por 39 anos.

Beryl Thorne nasceu em 26 de outubro de 1938 em Birkenhead, Cheshire, Inglaterra, filha de Leslie e Hilda Thorne. Ela se tornou cristã aos nove anos e, aos 14, sentiu o chamado de Deus para o campo missionário. Ela se formou no treinamento de secretariado em 1955, e o chamado para o campo missionário eventualmente se fortaleceu.

While helping with the youth of Emmanuel Church Pensby, she met and fell in love with Victor Edwards. Beryl attended Faith Mission Bible College and graduated in 1962, working as an evangelist in Northern Ireland and Scotland. In 1963, she followed her fiancé at the time, Victor Edwards, to Argentina to serve as missionaries together under a non-Nazarene organization. Beryl and Victor were married on 26 September 1964.

In 1968, the Edwardses joined the Church of the Nazarene, and a year later, they were appointed by the General Board as missionaries to Argentina. While Victor taught at the theological college, Beryl helped spearhead a women’s ministry, and coordinated holiday Bible clubs (Vacation Bible School) at the church.

The Edwardses continued to support the church’s growth in both Argentina and Paraguay, particularly in Paraguay’s capital, Asunción, while their daughters attended an English-speaking school. Beryl’s mission field became the parents’ association and the mothers’ group. They helped organize multiple churches in Paraguay before being assigned to the work in Spain in 1985.

While working in Barcelona, Victor and Beryl helped the Church of the Nazarene grow and develop in the northeast of Spain until their retirement in 1992.

Segundo sua família, mesmo em seus últimos dias, ela continuou a compartilhar Deus com os outros.

Beryl deixa seu marido, Victor; as filhas Keren Olson, Merion Shippam, Deborah Edwards e Rachel Storkey; seis netos e dois bisnetos.
