For the first time, youth leaders and young disciples from across the Mandalay Zone in Myanmar gathered at Antioch Gospel Church of the Nazarene in late September for a two-day Nazarene Youth International (NYI) conference that ignited revival, renewed vision, and a fresh sense of mission.

The conference theme was “Launch Out into the Deep,” and 32 young people committed themselves to a deeper journey of faith, leadership, and service. For many young people who are hungry to serve God, this gathering became more than an event – it was a defining moment in their lives.

The conference was led by NYI president Roland* and NDI President Levi*, who guided participants through engaging teaching sessions, spirit-filled worship, and meaningful moments of prayer. District Superintendent Adam* delivered a powerful message on holiness, calling the youth to live set-apart lives in a challenging world. Solomon Saya emphasized intentional Discipleship, while Roland presented the NYI Mission Strategy, outlining practical ways young people can actively participate in God’s global mission.

The sermons from Solomon and his wife, Thein Than Saya, stirred participants, leading to worship becoming sacred spaces where many wept, surrendered, and opened themselves to God’s leading. During altar moments, leaders prayed and spoke encouragement over the youth.

“I have a heart for missions, but I didn’t know how young people could be involved,” said  Zinmar Soe, a participant. “At this conference, I finally understood. The messages and strategies empowered me to begin serving now—not someday, but today.”

For Ye Win Htun, the gathering was a turning point in his call to ministry:

“I heard the Lord’s call, but I was afraid to step out. During worship, I dedicated myself to God’s call and received the prayers of our NYI leaders. I’m no longer afraid.”

The first Mandalay Zone NYI Conference signals the beginning of a movement among the region’s youth. As this rising generation chooses to go deeper, love stronger, and serve faithfully, NYI leaders in the region are celebrating God’s work in their lives.
