Nazarenes around the globe are invited to join Love Your Neighbor, a service project taking place in Kansas City, 20-27 June 2027, in conjunction with the 31st General Assembly and Conventions.

Love Your Neighbor is working with the Kansas City District to help participants engage in 25 different projects around the city. The projects range from working with local churches to distribute food, church construction projects, and working with ShelterKC — a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry Center that serves those experiencing homelessness.

Love Your Neighbor is also partnering with the district to plant two new churches in the urban core of Kansas City.

The event name is a reminder of Matthew 22:37-40, where Jesus tells his disciples to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

In that passage, Jesus reminds them that the second most important commandment “…is like [the first]: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

For those unable to attend the event in Kansas City, Nazarenes around the world are encouraged to organize a Love Your Neighbor event in their own communities. Resources will be available for local leaders to set up an event in their churches or district, and teams participating in local projects are invited to join in the General Assembly worship sessions via livestream.

Teams are welcome to pre-register at nazarene.org/lyn. Registration for individuals opens September 2026.
