The national gathering of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) in Chile was held 25-26 July 2025, under the motto ONE 2025. This event featured many moments of inspiration, formation, and unity, bringing together 70 leaders and volunteers from the four districts of the Church of the Nazarene in Chile: North, Central, Biobío, and Los Lagos.

The event was held at the Nazarene Bible Seminary and the Church of the Nazarene in Vitacura, Santiago, respectively, with the purpose of explaining the fundamental role that compassionate ministries play in the holistic development of the church. In addition, a clear and direct call was made to the body of believers to actively participate in the ministerial growth of their local congregations.

The meetings were organized thanks to the support and participation of Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI), Nazarene Missions International (NMI), and Nazarene Youth International (NYI), along with their respective national leaders who collaborated in the training sessions.

The general organization was led by Valentina Méndez, David Orellana, Bethania Pérez, and Abraham Huanca. The meetings were additionally supported by the teams of Elizabeth Soto, holistic ministries coordinator in Chile; Orestes Barboza, superintendent of the Chile Central District; and Patricio Huanca, rector of the Nazarene Biblical Seminary.

During the event, attendees participated in both reflective and practical workshops. Ministerial leaders presented the topics through the following spaces:

  • “Ministerial Burnout,” taught by missionary Ruth Bravo, NMI regional coordinator for South America.
  • “A Life in the Image of Christ,” led by Elizabeth Soto, holistic ministries coordinator in Chile.
  • “Look of Love,” facilitated by Pastor Lorena Noe, NCM regional coordinator for South America.

The meeting concluded with a closing service, where Pastor Francisca Albarracín ministered and encouraged participants to work in unity, serving as Jesus did. He reminded them of Jesus’ prayer “That they may all be one, as you and I are one” (John 17:21).

“We sought to make it clear that ministries are the perfect channel to develop God’s calling and fulfill his purposes for the lives of our brothers and sisters,” Huanca said. “We also wanted to unite the national leadership with local churches to convey that it is impossible to love God if we do not love our neighbors. And that the best time to begin serving is today. We touched on topics such as the importance of our Nazarene identity focused on holiness, mental health, stewardship of our lives, and the necessary characteristics to develop a ministry focused on the needs around us.”

The Church of the Nazarene in Chile continues to advance with determination toward a compassionate and transformative mission, convinced that serving others is serving God.
