On 11 March 2023, the Pajaro, California, community was completely evacuated due to a levee breach on the Pajaro River. Watsonville Church of the Nazarene has been working nonstop since to help victims of the devastating flood.

In rural Louisiana, one church’s name perfectly embodies its congregation. Friendship Church of the Nazarene in Robeline, Louisiana, has impacted its small community in various ways.

John William “Bill” Lancaster Jr., 88, of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, passed away 4 February 2023. He was a retired district superintendent who led the Mississippi District from 1980 to 1987 and the Houston District from 1987 to 2000.

Jessica Honaker may never have gotten sober if not for the persistence of her pastor, and the people of Corbin Church of the Nazarene. Sober and clean for five years now, Honaker is the treasurer of Hope Place.

Hope Place Church of the Nazarene is reaching the recovery community in Corbin, Kentucky, by demonstrating God’s love in tangible ways. They are currently in the process of opening a sober living house.

To uplift and demonstrate God’s love to the locals in the neighborhood, the teams joined together to celebrate a workday. For the event, attendees raised money on their own.

Nazarenes around the world are preparing to join together in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, under the theme “Jesus is Lord” at the 30th General Assembly, to be held 9-16 June 2023. Registration and housing are now available for those planning to attend.
