The Board of General Superintendents has elected Brazil native Alessandro Polonio to the position of South America regional director, effective 21 October 2023. Polonio succeeds Christian Sarmiento, who was elected the 45th General Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene at the General Assembly and Conventions on 15 June 2023.

Elton Wood, 97, of Riverside, Rhode Island, passed away on 22 June 2023. He was a retired minister, evangelist, and missionary who served in Cabo Verde and Brazil for 40 years.

Donald Crenshaw, 94, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away 4 May 2023. He was as a retired minister, evangelist, and missionary who served in Argentina from 1961 to 1967 and in the Dominican Republic from 1985 to 1994.
