The Church of the Nazarene is actively responding in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic after Hurricane Fiona caused destruction on both islands in September. The hurricane, with winds of 140 kilometers per hour (87 mph), caused heavy flooding in southwestern Puerto Rico.

Encuentro 2022 was held on the Western Puerto Rico District with about 100 Puerto Rico residents and 276 people of all ages from other areas of the United States. The groups held VBS and repaired churches that needed updating.

The Church of the Nazarene in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, held a celebration during Holy Week that included two special services and the baptism of 11 people. Pastor Oscar Rivera said the services were special and emotional because they were the first meetings in more than two years.
