
Jim Ritchie elected Global Missions director
The Board of General Superintendents announced that Jim Ritchie has been elected by the General Board to serve as the Church of the Nazarene’s next Global Missions director.

The Board of General Superintendents announced that Jim Ritchie has been elected by the General Board to serve as the Church of the Nazarene’s next Global Missions director.

The Church of the Nazarene announced the following retiring missionaries during the 100th Session of the General Board. As individuals, they have given a combined 156 years of service to God through the Church of the Nazarene.

The Church of the Nazarene’s Global Missions office recommended nine missionaries for commissioning during the 100th General Board session, held in Overland Park, Kansas, USA, 23-26 February.

The newly created Esther Carson Translation Center in Peru recently completed its first project: translating the Local and District Government section of the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene and other material into the native Awajún language spoken by the Aguaruna tribe.
Kwongwan Church of the Nazarene and the Korea National District’s Missions Department organized a mission trip in Thailand. The partnership between the Kwongwan Church of the Nazarene and the Thai District dates back to 1997.

Lois Taylor, 97, of Pittsfield, Illinois, passed away on 27 November 2023. She was a retired missionary who served for 19 years in Guyana, the Bahamas, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago, alongside her husband, Samuel Taylor.

MaryLou Riggle, 85, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on 5 November 2023. She was a retired missionary serving 38 years in Belize, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.

A total of 54 children attended a Children’s Missionary Orientation Camp in Mexico to learn about missions through the first-hand experiences of a missionary.
