Los Ángeles Church of the Nazarene in San José, Costa Rica, joined forces with the Saprissa Soccer School to hold a Christmas party where families could have fun and listen to the message of Jesus.
Even though more than a million people have already fled the country, hundreds of thousands are still vulnerable in Ukraine as the Russian Army continues to advance. Meanwhile, Nazarene churches and leaders are showing compassion and hospitality to communicate the presence of God in a time of upheaval.
The Holtville, California, Church of the Nazarene had been experiencing declining attendance at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The salvation and baptism of a new member drastically changed the outlook of the church, helping to bring new life.
The Pan de Vida Iglesia del Nazareno in Panama City, Panama, is using soccer and dance to provide wholesome recreation alternatives for the youth in their community. The church leaders hope that their work spreads from the youth into the broader community.
Torrential rainfall caused flooding on 31 January in the areas of La Comuna and La Gasca near Quito, Ecuador. This natural disaster left at least 40 people dead, more than 20 people injured, and extensive damage to homes in the area.
Pastor Kyle DeLong, who had battled drugs and alcohol addictions most of his past life, became sober in a North Carolina prison in 2006. Now, 15 years later, DeLong is using his freedom from past addictions to reach others who face similar struggles.
More than 130 people were ordained on the Africa Region during ordination services that took place across the region in October and November 2021.
