The Church of the Nazarene in Isla Verde, Philippines, has taken a major step toward community transformation by installing solar power systems, providing reliable electricity and building the community’s resilience through renewable energy.
The project, supported by Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, equips key church facilities with sustainable power to address long-standing challenges caused by limited and unreliable electricity in the area.
Three solar installations were completed as part of the initiative. The main worship hall now operates on a reliable, uninterrupted power supply, allowing steady worship services, Bible studies, fellowships, and church activities.
The solar panels in the church parsonage is providing the pastoral family with a reliable, cost-effective energy supply to support their ministry better. Additionally, a solar-powered community charging station was established, enabling residents to charge mobile phones, flashlights, and other essential devices and marking a significant difference in the daily lives of community members. The charging station has become a vital communication resource, particularly during emergencies.
Church leaders expressed deep gratitude to NCM for its partnership, noting that the project has brought both physical light and renewed hope to the island. The initiative reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to serve the community holistically.
