Banjul, The Gambia
Gambia Mission Trip — Spring 2027
A young church in Banjul is growing, and they are ready to welcome a team. This 2–3 week trip to The Gambia focuses on church planting and evangelism alongside a congregation that celebrated its very first anniversary in 2026. It is the kind of opportunity where you show up, serve alongside local people, and leave knowing the church is stronger because you came. Space is limited to approximately 15–20 participants. Nigeria National Conference Trip — August 2027
This trip is built around a national youth conference anticipated for August 2027, when students are out of school and energy for ministry runs high. Nigeria is one of the most dynamic mission fields on the continent, and this is a chance to be part of something that strengthens the church there. Missions Awareness Program
If you have ever thought about becoming a missionary and want to understand what that journey actually involves, this program is for you. Through a series of online sessions on Zoom, the Africa Region Missions Mobilization Team walks you through what it means to serve as a missionary in the Church of the Nazarene — how the process works, what to expect, and how to take your next step with clarity. Pioneer Ministry Training, CAA
Pioneer Ministry Training - Two Weeks
Pioneer Ministry Training is an immersive cross-cultural experience based in a pioneer area on the Africa Region. In two weeks, you’ll get a taste of life in a majority-Muslim community — spending a couple of nights with a local family, studying Arabic, and learning to read culture through workshops led by local teachers and mentors covering honor-shame dynamics, hospitality customs, and the rhythms of daily life. You’ll explore an ancient medina, visit Roman ruins, and practice being a curious, humble guest in someone else’s world. The goal isn’t just to see a new place — it’s to gain tools for navigating culture anywhere: how to ask good questions, how to listen well, and how to show up as a respectful traveler and friend. This program is for young adults ready to have their assumptions challenged and their perspective permanently widened.

Pioneer Ministry Training - One Month
Pioneer Ministry Training is an immersive cross-cultural experience based in a pioneer area on the Africa Region. Over one month, you’ll live with a local Muslim family, study Arabic, and go deep into the culture through workshops led by local teachers and mentors — covering honor-shame worldview, Islamic practice, hospitality customs, and what it looks like to be genuinely present in a majority-Muslim community. You’ll explore an ancient medina, visit Roman ruins, and build real friendships across cultural and linguistic differences. A month is long enough for culture shock to hit and for something to shift — the kind of learning that stays with you long after you return home. You’ll leave with practical tools for reading and navigating culture anywhere in the world, and a clearer sense of how God might be calling you to use them.

Pioneer Ministry Training - Two Months
Pioneer Ministry Training is an immersive cross-cultural experience based in a pioneer area on the Africa Region. Over two months, you’ll live with a local Muslim family, progress in Arabic, and develop a working understanding of the culture through workshops, conversations with local teachers, and the texture of daily life in a majority-Muslim community. You’ll move through culture shock and come out the other side — building genuine relationships, growing in cultural fluency, and gaining the kind of tools for reading and navigating culture that transfer to any context in the world. This program is for young adults with a serious interest in cross-cultural ministry or anyone who wants the depth of formation that only comes from truly living somewhere, not just visiting.

Pioneer Ministry Training - 10 Months
Pioneer Ministry Training is a full-immersion cross-cultural experience based in a pioneer area on the Africa Region. Over ten months, you’ll live within a local Muslim community, progress significantly in Arabic, and develop deep cultural understanding through daily life, language study, and structured learning on Islam, honor-shame worldview, and incarnational ministry. You’ll help lead cohorts of shorter-term participants, gain exposure to tentmaking and business as mission, and take visa renewal trips to Europe and other parts of Africa — meeting Nazarene colleagues and experiencing ministry in additional contexts. You’ll leave with cultural fluency, genuine local relationships, and a set of tools for understanding and navigating culture that will serve you across a lifetime of vocation — whatever form that takes. This program is for those with a clear sense of calling to pioneer or Islamic ministry who want comprehensive preparation — linguistic, cultural, spiritual, and vocational — before long-term field commitment.

Urban Ministry Internship Program - 6 Months
Africa’s cities are growing fast, and the church is called to be present in them. This six-month internship places you in Johannesburg or Nairobi, where you will live in community with other participants, engage in hands-on urban ministry, and grow as a leader alongside experienced mentors. There is a gap between what is happening on the field in Africa and what potential partners are able to see and understand. This role exists to close that gap. Project Specialist – Strategic Partnerships
The Africa Region has a significant project pipeline, and this role is responsible for keeping it running well. As the Project Specialist, you will manage the ELEOS project management platform, conduct audits, follow up with field coordinators, and ensure that every project is fully documented and ready for approval before it moves forward. It is detailed, relational work that requires someone who can hold a lot of moving pieces without losing track of any of them.
