The Cabo Verde North District Church of the Nazarene hosted a children’s missionary orientation camp from 11-13 July 2025, at the SOS Social Centre in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verde. This camp, aimed at teaching and inspiring youth to become disciples of Christ, has enabled children aged 6-12 to share God’s love and the gospel message with their communities and beyond.

Built around the theme of “Little Missionaries, Big Dreams for God,” the camp hosted 52 children. The three-day event included services and worship moments as well as creative workshops and activities such as painting and handicrafts designed to reinforce biblical teachings. No camp is complete without games, and the games at the event were designed to teach cooperation, respect, and love for others. One of the special events of the camp was an evening where the children dressed up to represent different African countries, showing how the gospel can reach everyone.

The vision of the children’s missionary orientation camp was to create an environment where children can be awakened and empowered for the mission of sharing God’s love with the world. The primary objective was to train young missionaries, teaching them Christian values, biblical principles, and missionary practices in a fun, interactive, and engaging manner.

The idea arose from everyday needs and inspirations within the context of the church and missions, aiming to instill missionary awareness in youth and to emphasize importance of involving them in Jesus’ great commandment from an early age.
