In ancient times, a Thank Offeringwas a type of fellowship offering, as prescribed in Leviticus 3 and Leviticus 7:11-‐15. Thank offerings were to begiven in response to God’s grace or deliverance and were to be given spontaneously and by free will. WhileLeviticus 23:19 prescribed a thank offering to be givenduringthe Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), they could be given at any other time of the year, aslong as they were given with a thankful heart (Leviticus 19:5).
