Leaders and representatives from across the Church of the Nazarene gathered for a five-day series of Wesleyan-Holiness Digital Library (WHDL) meetings, team-building activities, and technical working sessions.

The event brought together Nazarene Library Directors from around the world, those who support in other capacities, and retired volunteers. Together, participants engaged in collaborative discussions and technical sessions designed to strengthen the WHDL and its mission of making holiness resources accessible to the global church.

Each day began with devotions and reflections, grounding the work in the shared mission of the Nazarene Church. Participants shared various presentations and a technical working group session, all focusing on system improvements, user experience, and strategic development for WHDL’s continued growth.

Alongside daily meetings, the participants enjoyed team-building activities and fellowship that strengthened relationships and renewed their commitment to collaboration and service. The event fostered technical innovation and spiritual unity, reminding everyone that WHDL’s mission extends beyond technology. Every update to the platform helps Nazarene pastors, students, educators, and lay leaders worldwide access reliable, Christ-centered learning resources.

About the WHDL

Klaus Arnold, director of Global Education & Clergy Development, said, “WHDL is the delivery channel to distribute resources for ministerial preparation and development to pastors in all of the languages and regions. Many of our theological institutions are using the resources. It is a great tool with even more potential in the future.”

WHDL grew out of the “Books for Pastors” initiative 14 years ago by Nazarene Missions International (NMI). As a free, open-access digital library, WHDL.org  provides global access to Wesleyan-Holiness writings, research, and ministry materials. The website hosts thousands of sermons, books, articles, and historical documents in multiple languages, serving as a vital tool for theological education and ministry development.

Through partnerships among Nazarene colleges, universities, libraries, and regional teams, WHDL continues to expand its reach—empowering individuals and institutions to share, discover, and grow in holiness. Its purpose is clear: to support the Church’s mission of making Christlike disciples by equipping leaders with biblically sound and contextually relevant resources.
