More than 700 Nazarenes came together for AME.25, the South America Region Conference in Cali, Colombia, from 22-24 October. The regional conference brought together pastors, leaders, and laypeople from South America, Mesoamerica, and the USA/Canada regions under the theme: “Loving, Ministering, and Evangelizing like Jesus.”
Organized by the South America Region and hosted by the Church of the Nazarene House of Prayer in Cali, the region’s quadrennial missional conference was supported by more than 100 volunteers who served with excellence, hospitality, and joy, making every moment an unforgettable experience of fellowship and worship.
Three guiding themes shaped the conference: loving like Jesus, ministering like Jesus, and evangelizing like Jesus. Organizers arranged times of worship, teaching, and fellowship to renew the church’s vision and commitment to reflect Christ in life and ministry.
General Superintendents Carla Sunberg and Scott Daniels, along with Regional Director Alessandro Polonio, and other senior pastors and ministry leaders, were the featured preachers. Distinguished workshop facilitators and speakers included Jim Ritchie, director of Global Missions, and Sam Barber, global director of Nazarene Discipleship International.
Over the three days, hundreds of pastors and leaders came to the altar, responding with commitment and dedication to God’s call for their lives. A spirit of worship, spiritual renewal, and unity among nations filled the gathering, ushering in a new era for South America. The event marked the beginning of a revival that will undoubtedly shape the years to come, under the theme “Be Like Jesus.” This theme will guide the 2030 Goal, which seeks to reach 500,000 Nazarenes in South America, establish 3,600 active congregations, and ensure that 100% of churches participate in giving to the World Evangelization Fund (WEF).
The final night was streamed live across South America, drawing hundreds to the celebration. In her closing message, Carla Sunberg quoted Phineas F. Bresee, founder of the Church of the Nazarene, encouraging every church, pastor, and leader to be a holy fire in every corner of the continent, bringing Christ’s love and hope to all people.
The AME.25 Regional Conference profoundly impacted the life of the Church of the Nazarene in South America, reminding everyone that the call remains the same: to love, minister, and evangelize like Jesus, until the power of the gospel transforms the entire region.
