During the month of June, the Venezuela Lago District experienced a special time of celebration, learning, and missionary challenge with the Children’s Missionary Orientation Camp. The activity took place over two days: 5-6 June in the Perijá region, hosted by the Beraca Valley Church of the Nazarene in Los Chichies, and later, 12-13 June, at the La Trinidad Church of the Nazarene in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Through activities, creative games, crafts, and workshops, 97 children participated in interactive, hands-on learning experiences that highlighted the importance of urban and cross-cultural missions. In addition to learning how the gospel can reach other cultures and countries, the children were challenged to discover their part in serving as active missionaries in their own homes, schools, and communities.
The event was supported by committed local leaders, the invaluable assistance of Pastor Diana de Díaz, and the guidance of the district leadership of Nazarene Missions International (NMI). Despite logistical challenges, each gathering unfolded with a shared sense of unity, creativity, and purpose.
Sister Nereida Fernández, district NMI president, expressed her gratitude for the experience at the camp and shared: “I thank God for His support during this time of service, for the team, the willing local leaders, and for the children who participated, who now understand that God has a calling for each of them. My heart rejoices when I remember their faces filled with wonder and joy.”
The camp provided a meaningful experience of formation, inspiration, and witness, and it reaffirmed the district’s commitment to continue sowing seeds in new generations. It was an opportunity reminding everyone that God calls, shapes, and sends even the youngest among us to be a light in their homes, schools, and communities.
