Children from across the Nigeria’s Port Harcourt District gathered recently for a rally featuring a variety of engaging and fun activities to learn about the Church of the Nazarene.
The rally, themed Jesus is Your Friend, was held at the First Church of the Nazarene International, in Azuabie.
The event was organised to foster unity and joy among children in the district and to create a strong sense of belonging. It addressed a need for children to connect beyond their local churches, helping them feel part of a larger church family. The event also served as a platform for spiritual development, evangelism and community visibility.
The children played games, competed in Bible quizzing, and practiced evangelism as the kids went out into the community holding banners and dancing to raise awareness about the church within the community.
The rally featured a variety of engaging and fun activities including games such as the Articles of Faith game, the cup game, dancing competitions, and dramatic presentations and songs. At the end of the event, outstanding participants and all participating churches received gifts in appreciation of their involvement.
This year’s gathering marked the third edition of the children’s rally. Led by Obigwe Clementina, the event was successfully executed through careful planning and coordination among district leaders, children’s teachers, and supporting adults. Clementina spearheads the district’s children’s ministries. The inclusion of the evangelism outreach added a meaningful dimension to the programme, making it both impactful within the church and visible in the wider community.
The Nigeria Port Harcourt District remains dedicated to nurturing children in an environment that promotes unity, learning, evangelism, joy and a strong sense of belonging within the church community.
