More than 180 young people and over 120 volunteers gathered in Someren, Netherlands, for the annual Dutch Youth Camp held from 19-26 July.

The camp’s theme, ‘Come to the Table,’ focused on John 14:6 —”I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In the evening services, six guest speakers shared their perspectives on the theme, emphasizing how Jesus invites everyone to come to the table, to follow him, and to follow the way.

Throughout the week, the different family groups competed against each other in various games to win first place by the end of the week. Other activities included educational and athletic workshops and swimming pool visits.

One impactful camp activity was Mission Day, when all teenagers went to places nearby to help people in the community. They fixed fences, planted trees, or took lonely elderly people for a walk. It was a full day of showing love to the people around them. Boeser said the camp had a significant impact on many, not just teenagers.

“Jesus said, ‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them,'” said Jasmijn Boeser, a camp attendee. “When you are attending the camp, you can really feel this; you feel God’s presence through the many amazing people present, you can feel his presence in the gatherings and the worship. I believe that makes a big impact on everyone.”

Boeser recalled a conversation with someone in her “family group” (small group).

“She said, ‘Isn’t it wonderful that teenagers who are struggling or have problems at home have a place here at camp where they can come, feel at home, and feel seen?'” Boeser completely agreed. “I think that’s a beautiful thing we have, and for me personally, I already can’t wait for next year.”
