Kenneth Mills was appointed interim superintendent of the Philadelphia District on 22 September 2025.
This appointment was made by General Superintendent Christian Sarmiento, in consultation with the Philadelphia District Advisory Committee and the Board of General Superintendents.
Mills will follow Kerry Willis, who has decided to accept the call to return to pastoral ministry. The appointment becomes effective on 1 December 2025.
Mills will serve for the remainder of the church year through the 2026 Philadelphia District assembly, when the election of a new superintendent is expected to occur.
Ken Mills is a retired district superintendent and minister. He led the New England District from 1992 to 1997, the Washington (now Mid-Atlantic) District from 1997 to 2016, and the Pittsburgh District from 2016 to 2017. In addition, he has served as a pastor in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Ohio, and Maryland.
Ken and his wife, Patti, currently reside in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
