General Secretary Gary Hartke and Nazarene Research Services released the annual Church of the Nazarene statistical report for 2025. This detailed report documents the missional activities of the denomination on a global scale, showing weekly worship attendance growth for the Church of the Nazarene over the statistical year.
“It is always a highlight when we compile the statistics that represent the transformative work of God in the lives of people worldwide through our faithful clergy and laypeople,” said Hartke. “The year 2025 is no different. We continue to express our gratitude to God for the remarkable work He is doing through our nearly 30,000 local churches.”
Global reports show total current membership for the Church of the Nazarene at 2,764,205—a net decrease of 0.62% from 2024. However, this number is a 13.22% increase in the last decade.
A record number of conversions was set for a second straight year, as 273,816 people came to know Christ through the Church of the Nazarene in 2025. The denomination welcomed 142,052 new Nazarenes this year and saw a total of 113,860 new professions of faith.
The fastest-growing regions in membership were Africa (4.32%) and Asia-Pacific (3.1%). The Africa Region reported the highest number of new Nazarenes, totaling 53,842.
The global average weekly in-person worship attendance was 1,344,540, a 3.77% increase from 2024, and the average weekly online worship attendance was 423,730, a 32.07% increase from 2024.
The Church of the Nazarene has 20,440 ordained elders, 915 ordained deacons, and 10,871 licensed ministers.
