David Bennett was elected superintendent of the Philadelphia District on 26 April 2026. Bennett has served as the pastor at Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene in Eagleville, Pennsylvania, since 2007.

Bennett’s new assignment begins 25 May 2026. He follows Kerry Willis, who decided to return to pastoral ministry in 2025. Kenneth Mills served as interim superintendent since September 2025, until the recent district assembly.

Bennett earned his bachelor’s degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College (now University) in 1987, and a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1990.

He served on staff at Kansas City Dundee Hills Church of the Nazarene (now Kansas City North Oak) from 1988 – 1990. In 1990, he accepted the call to pastor Northfield Church of the Nazarene in Pennsylvania, serving there until 1994.

In 1994, he and his family returned to Kansas—this time further west—pastoring at Topeka Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene from 1994, until he returned to Pennsylvania to pastor Fairview Village.

In addition to his ministry in the local church, he has served as the Philadelphia District’s lifelong learning coordinator since 2019.

David and his wife, Dora, have three children and six grandchildren.
