The Church of the Nazarene has returned to Switzerland.
Miguel and Marisol Arrias, residents of Geneva but originally from Chile, recently felt God’s call to begin a house church for Spanish-speaking people in their new home. The couple opened their home in 2024, and the group has slowly but steadily grown while Miguel teaches and continues his theological studies.
In April 2025, Northern Europe Field Strategy Coordinator Antonie Holleman visited the group for the first time and began working with them toward recognizing the gathering as a Nazarene church plant.
On October 12, the Church of the Nazarene in Geneva officially launched, and Holleman appointed Miguel as the pastor of the new congregation.
“For the last five years, there had been no Nazarene church in Switzerland,” Holleman said. “Now, by the grace of God, we have restarted in a way that none of us could have imagined. God works in surprising ways, bringing Spanish speakers from Latin America—living in the French-speaking part of Switzerland—into our church community.”
This marks a joyful new chapter for the Church of the Nazarene in the Northern Europe Field, on the Eurasia Region, and across the globe.
