In late January 2025, Roca Roja Beach in Antofagasta was the scene of a significant baptism ceremony organized by the Church of the Nazarene Puerta Abierta Antofagasta – Chile.
During a celebration, 14 brothers and sisters made the decision to be baptized, giving public witness to their commitment to Christ. Each step toward the water was a visible expression of obedience and hope, reminding those present that baptism symbolizes renunciation of the past life and the beginning of a new spiritual stage.
Pastor Angelo Piñones led the baptism ceremony along with Alan Palacios and Oliver Tapia, who assisted the pastor in immersing the individuals. The congregation and loved ones of those taking this step of faith accompanied each baptism with prayers, songs, and words of encouragement.
The gathering also became a space for unity among families and the community, where faith was expressed in a simple yet profoundly meaningful way.
The day concluded by giving thanks to God for the lives transformed and the testimonies of those baptized. The baptisms at Playa Roca Roja, celebrated by the Open Door Church of the Nazarene, reaffirmed that when the church celebrates God’s work in people, faith becomes visible.
