The Benin-Okpara District of the Church of the Nazarene experienced a powerful moment of spiritual revival through the organisation during a 21-day fasting and prayer programme in the Borgou-Alibori area. Under the theme “Building a Strong Church,” based on the passage of Ecclesiastes 4:12, this initiative aimed to strengthen the unity and commitment of the faithful for a more solid and dynamic church.

During these three weeks of dedication, participants fervently engaged in times of prayer, fasting, Bible teaching and evangelism. The teachings emphasised an essential truth: a divided church is a weak church, while strength lies in the synergy of members, united in one spirit and one vision.

Each gathering was marked by a strong sense of commitment, reflecting a deep thirst for God and a desire to see the church grow not only in numbers but also in spiritual maturity and brotherly unity.

The highlight of the programme was the baptism of 18 new disciples on Easter Sunday. This joyful occasion symbolised the new disciples’ commitment to walk with Christ—a visible fruit of the evangelistic efforts over these 21 days.

The revival was led by Habib Chabi, the district superintendent, whose leadership and spiritual guidance greatly contributed to the success of this initiative.

Beyond the numbers, the transformed lives, renewed hearts and a unified church are testaments to the Holy Spirit’s work during the 21 days.
