Darren Reed was elected superintendent of the Sacramento District in California on 26 April 2024. He is currently the pastor of Denver One Hope Church of the Nazarene.

Three new superintendents were announced on the USA/Canada Region this week. Jeffery Barker and Daren Pitcher were elected to the Metro New York and Central California districts, respectively and Althea Taylor was appointed superintendent of the Hawaii Pacific District.

When a Nazarene pastor and his wife were out getting food at a nearby fast-food restaurant in Makawao, Hawaii, they noticed a Red Cross shelter had been opened. Within hours, they found themselves on the front line of aid efforts as fires raged around the island of Maui.

Scott M. Whalen was elected as superintendent of the Chicago Central District 13 April 2024. He currently serves as the district secretary and assistant district superintendent.

In an isolated corner of Michigan farm country, a small Church of the Nazarene has become the county’s sole provider of English Language Learning classes. Some of the first students are now on track to become church members this summer.

Reachway Church of the Nazarene is impacting its neighborhood of Peoria, Illinois, by providing a space the community can use for its benefit.

Gregory Hephner, 59, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away 21 February 2024. He was a member of the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene, elected in June 2023. He passed just six weeks after receiving a glioblastoma diagnosis.
