A Nazarene church in rural North Dakota is preparing to meet its community’s needs by opening an immigration office that will provide low-cost, local services for many in North Dakota who need help with legal immigration or starting their path to citizenship.

The East Tennessee District elected Ron DeWitt on 14 July 2021 as its new superintendent. DeWitt currently pastors Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene in Tennessee.

Shawnee Church of the Nazarene will open a school this fall to meet the community’s new educational needs in the wake of the pandemic.

The Iowa District elected Michael Kraemer on 9 July 2021 as its new superintendent. Kraemer currently serves as lead pastor of Prairie Heights Community Church of the Nazarene in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The Church of the Nazarene spread into the Sudanese population through refugee camps during the Sudanese Civil War. Today, many of those refugees have emigrated to the United States, bringing their hunger for evangelism with them.

New Changing Life Church of the Nazarene is the first and only Nazarene church in Mankato, Minnesota. The church began through a relationship formed in an Ethiopian refugee camp in the 1990s.

The Colorado District elected Virgil Askren on 18 June 2021 as its new superintendent. Askren replaces David Ralph, who is retiring after leading the district since August of 2001.
