The provisions of the current Manual remain effective until modified by the 30th General Assembly, scheduled to convene in June of 2023, and a new version is announced by the Board of General Superintendents.
The Board of General Superintendents has prayerfully reflected on the characteristics of a post-pandemic Church. While some things will likely never be the same again, we also recognize things that were first perceived as obstacles have become opportunities and open doors for our mission to be refined and renewed.
The Board of General Superintendents elected Dr. Bonnie Perry to serve as general editor for the Church of the Nazarene. Perry succeeds Frank Moore, who has been serving since 2013 and will be retiring on 1 June.
Randy Barrington has been appointed superintendent of the Canada Quebec District. The appointment was made by General Superintendent David Graves in consultation with the Canada Quebec Advisory Committee, USA/Canada Regional Director Stan Reeder, and the Board of General Superintendents.
The British Isles North District elected Ruth Turner on 19 April 2021 as its new superintendent. Turner currently serves as pastor of Millbrook Church of the Nazarene in Larne, Northern Ireland.
The Eastern Michigan District elected Michael D. Kitsko on 19 April 2021 as its new superintendent. Kitsko currently serves as the assistant district superintendent, a role he has held for the last eight years. He replaces Glen Gardner, who is retiring.
The Board of General Superintendents is inviting Nazarenes from around the world to A Celebration of Grace, a 24-hour global worship service on Sunday, 27 June 2021. The hour-long service will focus on the new denominational discipleship initiative, Nazarene Discipleship: A Journey of Grace.

Olivia A. Metcalf has been appointed superintendent of the Upstate New York District. She most recently served as co-chaplain at Northwest Nazarene University with her husband, Dustin Metcalf.
