More than 3,500 Ethiopian Nazarenes traveled to a national conference for the Church of the Nazarene, held in the southern city of Hawasa from 12-14 May 2023.

Elton Wood, 97, of Riverside, Rhode Island, passed away on 22 June 2023. He was a retired minister, evangelist, and missionary who served in Cabo Verde and Brazil for 40 years.

Matola Cidade Church of the Nazarene in Mozambique honored Ana da Conceição Coelho, a woman who has served in the Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. She has dedicated her life to teaching the Word of God to the children in the church.

The Girls Empowerment Club was started on the Ghana North District as a response to the many injustices female children face in Ghana. When the club started in 2009, it had 96 members. Today, the project has 2,100 members.

Fifty representatives from more than 14 churches across South Africa’s Gauteng and Western districts descended upon Nazarene Theological College in Johannesburg, South Africa, to help with clean-up, renovations, and general repairs around the campus on 18 February.

Living Water Falls Church of the Nazarene, a Church Type Mission in Harare, Zimbabwe, held its 3rd Vacation Bible School (VBS).
The 2022 VBS was their first in-person service, with 21 children, ages 2–12, in attendance.

Stanley Ushe was appointed field strategy coordinator of the Africa East (formerly Horn of Africa) Field on 14 November 2022. Ushe replaces Musa Kuene, who is moving to the United Kingdom. The appointment becomes effective 1 January 2023.
