On 6 February 2025, the Church of the Nazarene in Kampala, Uganda, organized an opportunity for young people in the South Sudanese refugee community to engage in soccer, fostering relationships across ethnic and cultural lines. Sports programs also serve as practical outreach tools.

Since September 1, 2009, the Church of the Nazarene's Global Ministry Center (GMC) proudly flies a flag each week of one of the many nations in which the denomination is present in ministry. Leaders were invited to send a national flag to be flown at the GMC alongside the flag of the United States*.

On Monday, 13 January 2025, 80 new believers were baptized in the Nile River in South Sudan, the same Nile River where the baby Moses was drawn up out of the water and saved for a greater purpose. These new believers are from the New Life Church of the Nazarene in Juba South, South Sudan.
