Background
Nazarene Health Ministries exists to bring hope and healing to the people of Papua New Guinea. Our slogan is, “We Treat Jesus Heals”. We believe that it is through loving and serving some of the poorest and most marginalized people groups in the world that we can best be the hands and feet of Jesus.
This 140+ bed Hospital in the highlands of Papua New Guinea serves over 55,000 outpatients a year, admits over 7,000 patients, delivers over 2,500 babies, and performs over 2,000 major surgeries.
While we are hoping and praying for long-term doctors, we are also open to considering those who could come for 1-2 years. It is impossible to predict the exact timing of our need for new doctors. The process of getting everything in order for a new doctor to come can be a lengthy process (easily 12 months). Please don’t delay!
We are continually searching for doctors who believe that there is an intrinsic link between treating the body and providing hope for the soul. We also believe that lives are forever changed when patients know that this hope comes from the healing power of Jesus.

- Our doctors are committed to serving all age groups with a variety of medical and surgical needs. Regardless of your specialty, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN, Surgery, or other, your skills can be used here!
Requirements:
- Ability to work in cross-specialty and cross-cultural care teams
- Ability to obtain a Papua New Guinea medical license
- The heart of a learner
- Willingness to put patient care first
- Willingness to be on-call
