To serve the Church of the Nazarene in Angola by strengthening leadership capacity, pastoral formation, and district development through training, mentoring, and hands-on ministry involvement, in alignment with the mission, doctrine, and organizational structure of the Church of the Nazarene.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate leadership development initiatives for pastors and church leaders nationwide.
- Provide training, mentoring, and coaching for pastors and lay leaders.
- Support district leadership in strengthening church organization and ministry effectiveness.
- Assist in developing and implementing pastoral and leadership training programs.
- Encourage leadership multiplication by equipping local leaders to continue ministry development independently.
- Participate actively in local church life and ministry.
- Work collaboratively with districts and field leadership to support ministry priorities.
- Assist in strengthening ministry sustainability through local capacity development.
- Promote alignment with Nazarene doctrine, mission, and ministry practices.
- Submit reports and updates as required by leadership.
Candidate Profile
- A missionary couple willing to be based in Angola.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Christian Ministry, Leadership Studies, Education, or a related field.
- Training or experience in leadership development, pastoral training, or church development is highly desirable.
- Active and committed members of the Church of the Nazarene.
- Knowledge of Nazarene doctrine, polity, and practices.
- Clear understanding of the organizational structure of the Church of the Nazarene at local, district, field, and global levels.
- Demonstrated Christian character and a clear calling to missionary service.
- Strong understanding of biblical and practical leadership principles.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures, age groups, and ministry contexts.
- Hands-on ministry involvement and ability to motivate participation.
- Experience or ability to train, mentor, and equip leaders.
- Good understanding of pastoral development and district growth needs.
- Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written).
- English proficiency is a strong advantage.
- Strong teaching, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Relational, approachable, and culturally sensitive.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and flexible in ministry settings.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Willingness to integrate fully into Angolan culture and community life.
- Willingness and ability to reside and serve in Angola for the duration of the assignment.
- Commitment to serve under the leadership and vision of the Church of the Nazarene in Angola.
