Vanuatu District ordains first ministers

Vanuatu District ordains first ministers

by | 11 Dec 2018

This year’s Vanuatu District Assembly featured its first ordination service. Three ministers were ordained during the 30 October assembly — Keithly Jereva, Meriam Naunga, and Gideon Sam.

Micronesia-South Pacific Field Strategy Coordinator Harmon Schmelzenbach and Regional Director Mark Louw were at the ordination service while General Superintendent Fili Chambo presided over the event.

Chambo shared what it means to be ordained in the Church of the Nazarene.

“We view ordination as a gift from God to the church,” Chambo said. “It is not something that we earn or deserve. It is through the local church that you came to the Lord, through the general church you had theological training, and the district has been part of your journey — they see the gifts and graces for you to be a preacher of the Word.”
