Peru SDMI trains VBS leaders
More than 50 people participated in this year’s Vacation Bible School training held by the Central Peru District Sunday School and Discipleship Ministry International board. The event was held 5 January in the Pueblo Libre Church of the Nazarene.
All of the churches on the district were encouraged to send their SDMI presidents, children’s ministry directors, VBS directors, and VBS teachers. Training topics included “The ABC’s of VBS,” biblical fundamentals of developing and organizing a VBS, functions and responsibilities of directors and teachers, and strategic partners. Participants were also asked for feedback to further develop the VBS.
The VBS curriculum selected this year is “Messengers for Jesus.” The curriculum is tailored for preschool, primary school, and elementary school students, and it includes songs, dances, lessons, and an event schedule.
“We would like to thank Yelka Liliana Reaño de Bernales, who was the leader of the training and proposed this VBS, and all the brothers and sisters in Christ who supported the organization of this training,” said Sarita Dominguez, SDMI volunteer and event participant.
