Representatives from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Guyana, and Belize met to be challenged and equipped to fulfill the Great Commission and mobilize the church in the mission of making Christlike disciples.

Under the emphasis “Mobilizing to Build His Church,” the congress included six plenary sessions and five workshops focused on topics such as discipleship, prayer, mobilization to the cities, regional vision, missionary mobilization, the missional participation of new generations, and strengthening NMI in the local church.

Among the guests were General Superintendent in Jurisdiction David Busic, General Superintendent Gustavo Crocker, Global NMI Director Cheryl Crouch, and Mesoamerica Regional Director Jimmy De Gouveia. Various regional, area and district leaders were also in attendance.

During the opening, Busic shared the message “Mobilizing to Build His Church.” On subsequent nights, Crocker preached on the themes “Mobilizing the Church of the Nazarene in Global Missions” and “Committed to Taking the Mission to the Ends of the Earth.”

At one point, Crocker called on everyone to take up the challenge. Many people responded by going to the altar and kneeling as an expression of commitment.

The congress also marked a significant moment for NMI in Mesoamerica. De Gouveia publicly recognized Ana María Crocker de Díaz for her 22 years of service as NMI regional coordinator. District representatives joined in recognizing her years of leadership and service.

Crouch also expressed her gratitude for the time shared in Guatemala, highlighting the teaching, the times of worship, and the fellowship with leaders and missionaries.

“It has been a special joy to celebrate 22 years of Ana Crocker’s exceptional leadership,” Crouch said.

As part of this transition, Crocker symbolically handed over the baton to Ana Celia Martínez, who assumes the regional coordination of NMI, and subsequently prayed for her in this new stage of the ministry.

“For me, it is an honor and a great responsibility to assume the coordination of this ministry in our region. The challenge ahead is great, but I am convinced that, with God’s grace and the support of our church, we can be instruments of transformation. It is my desire that the Lord equip me with everything necessary to do his will,” Martínez expressed.

Another moment of recognition was the farewell to Benjamín Soria, who completed four years of service as NYI regional coordinator. The NYI regional council thanked him for his work and dedication to serving the youth of Mesoamerica.
