Harry Curry Jr. was appointed superintendent of the Kentucky District on 3 August 2026. The appointment was made by Carla Sunberg, in consultation with the Kentucky District Advisory Board, USA/Canada Regional Director Jeffery Johnson, and the Board of General Superintendents.
The appointment is effective 1 September 2026. Curry replaces Brian Powell, who has served as superintendent of the Kentucky District since 2015. Powell recently accepted the call to pastor Cincinnati Springdale Church of the Nazarene.
Curry attended Trevecca Nazarene College (now University), receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1982. He earned his Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1985.
He has served as a pastor at Elkton Church of the Nazarene and Louisville Trinity Church of the Nazarene, both in Kentucky. He has served as pastor of Louisville First Church of the Nazarene since 1993.
Harry and his wife, Anita, have two children and currently reside in Louisville.
