Leonardo Peralta was appointed field strategy coordinator (FSC) for the Mexico Field on 14 July 2026. The appointment was made by Global Missions Director Jim Ritchie, upon the recommendation of Mesoamerica Region Director Jimmy De Gouveia and in consultation with the Jurisdictional General Superintendent David Busic.
Peralta’s appointment is effective 1 October 2026. He will follow Jorge Córdova, who is retiring after serving as the Mexico Field strategy coordinator since 2009.
Leonardo and his wife, Verónica, are pastors of the Torre Fuente Church of the Nazarene in León, Mexico, where they have served since 2005. Leonardo has served as superintendent of the Mexico West District since 2016.
Ordained in 2009, Leonardo holds a bachelor’s degree in theology. He is currently part of the first cohort of the master’s degree in pastoral management and integral church development. He also completed a master’s degree in pastoral counseling through Nuestro Pacto International University and a diploma in youth ministry.
Previously, the Peraltas served for three years as church-planting missionaries in the city of Colima, where a small congregation was established. Together, they have served three years in missionary work, 20 years in pastoral ministry, and nine years in district leadership.
They have two adult children, Paola and Isai.
