The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from 2-6 March 2026.
Kent Dale, 81, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away 1 March 2026. He was a retired minister who served in Indiana and Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife Mary Dale.
Elva Elsberry, 99, of Yale, Oklahoma, passed away 27 February 2026. She was the widow of Cleo Elsberry, a retired minister who served in South Dakota, California, Colorado, Louisiana, and Arizona. Cleo passed away in 1998.
Roy Gueswel, 81, of Lamar, Colorado, passed away 5 March 2026. He was a retired minister who served in Colorado and North Dakota. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Gueswel.
Lynette Hagemeier, 78, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away 20 February 2026. She was the wife of L. Charles Hagemeier, a minister who served in California, New Mexico, Oregon, Colorado, and Idaho.
Mark Lathrop, 95, of Oak Harbor, Washington. He was a minister who served in Washington, Alaska, Missouri, California, and Quebec, Canada. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lathrop.
Karen Leeper, 73, of Springville, California, passed away 1 March 2026. She was the wife of Mark Leeper, who pastors Springville Church of the Nazarene.
Thomas McDaniel, 92, of Northport, Alabama, passed away 15 February 2026. He was a retired minister who served in Texas and Alabama. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn McDaniel, who passed away in 2021.
Robert Norfleet, 85, of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away 1 March 2026. He was a retired minister who served in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Norfleet, who passed away in 2013.
Mabel Whitmer, 95, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away 20 February 2026. She was the widow of Eugene Whitmer, a retired minister who served in Ohio. Eugene passed away in 2020.
