In November, the baptism of Franco Nahuel Garrido, 29, was joyfully celebrated at the Church of the Nazarene “Jesús mi Refugio” in the city of Neuquén, Argentina.

Garrido came to know God’s love through the “Challenges in Christ” Ministry, a compassionate outreach program that supports people experiencing homelessness and substance abuse. The ministry meets on Saturdays and is led by José Alberto Espínola Peralta, a team of 12 dedicated volunteers, and Edivaldo Junior, a missionary who encourages and strengthens the growth of this service.

Garrido shared his powerful testimony of transformation in Christ with the congregation—how God restored his life when all seemed lost. After a time of growing in faith through care and pastoral support, he decided to take the step of obedience and publicly declare his new life in Christ through baptism.

The ceremony was a moment of significant spiritual impact for the church, which joyfully celebrated Garrido’s new life in Christ.

“God took me out of where I was and gave me a new opportunity,” Garrido shared emotionally.

As a community, the church gave thanks to God for his work in Franco’s life and was encouraged to continue praying for and supporting the “Challenges in Christ” Ministry.
