The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received from 2-5 September 2025.
George Blain, 86, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away 26 August 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Oregon. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Blain.
Zelda Burns, 89, of Stow, Ohio, passed away 1 September 2025. She was the widow of Wesley Burns a minister who served in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
Esther Crabtree, 97, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away 25 August 2025. She was the widow of James Crabtree, an evangelist who served in Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio. James passed away in 2006.
Barbara Cummings, 88, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on 29 August 2025. She was a retired minister who served in Arizona.
Gary Garrett, 77, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away 1 September 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Garrett.
Peggy Jones, 76, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away 31 August 2025. She was the widow of David Jones, a retired minister who served in Oklahoma, Missouri, Florida, and Tennessee. David passed away in 1997.
Fouzi Khawaja, 95, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away 23 August 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Ohio and California, USA, and in Jordan and Lebanon. He is survived by his wife, Sawsan Khawaja.
Sonja Midcap, 81, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away 1 September 2025. She was the wife of Allen Midcap, a retired minister who served in West Virginia, Florida, and Ohio.
Emily Oates, 36, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, passed away 24 August 2025. She was the wife of Trevor Oates, a minister who served in Pennsylvania.
Duane Smith, 77, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away 29 August 2025. He was a retired evangelist who served in Indiana, Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio, Texas, and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Smith.
Mary Lou Archer-Taylor, 92, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away 19 August 2025. She was the widow of Roy Archer a retired minister who served in Missouri, Texas, Montana, North Dakota South Dakota, and Kansas. Roy passed away in 2001. Mary Lou is the widow of Bruce Taylor, her second husband. Bruce was a retired district superintendent who led the Canada Atlantic District from 1958 to 1961, and the Canada Central District from 1961 to 1971. He served as a minister in New Jersey and Maine, as well as Ontario, Canada. Bruce passed away in 2013.
Clair Uitts, 89, of Port Saint Joe, Florida, passed away 4 September 2025. He was a retired minister who served in Arkansas and Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Uitts, who passed away in 2003.
