On 24 July 2025, the Jehovah Shalom Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela experienced a day of profound joy and celebration when five sisters publicly declared their commitment to Jesus Christ through a moving baptism ceremony.
The event took place in the facilities of the “Agua Fresca” Church of the Nazarene, located in the Samán de Güere sector, in Turmero, Aragua State, Venezuela, and brought together parishioners and community members to witness this important event.
Yelitza Páez, Jobana Escalona, Normery Rondón, Kaileth Mendoza, and Keilimar Graterol’s courageous step of being baptized offered a powerful public testimony of their personal experiences with the Lord. A worship song of each one’s choice was played in the background as the sisters approached the water, making their faith declaration profoundly meaningful.
For all present to witness the sisters’ step of obedience—family, friends, and believers—the baptism represented not only a symbol of new birth but a public covenant and a spiritual transformation toward a life consecrated to Christ.
The day began with a joyful worship and praise celebration that brought warmth and gratitude. Afterward, Pastor Máximo Malavé preached an expository Bible teaching centered on baptism and new birth from John 3:1-7.
The event was attended by 17 adults, five teenagers, and five children, who joined in support and celebration with the new believers.
“This was a public testimony of faith and a declaration that we follow Jesus Christ,” Yelitza Páez said. “It means the death of the old life, turning away from the world, and giving our sins to Christ. It is the beginning of a new life, transformed and dedicated to following him. It was an important step in my Christian faith journey. Through the gathering in our church, Jehovah Shalom, I felt very valued. I know I have renewed my faith in Christ, and I ask the Lord to strengthen me each day, give me wisdom to understand his Word and apply it to my life, and to allow me to share with all those he places in my path…, all for his honor and glory.”
Kaileth Mendoza also expressed her gratitude for the church and for the work God has done in her life.
“I am so happy to have been baptized,” said Kaileth Mendoza. “I ask the Lord every day for more strength to continue. I also bless our pastors for encouraging me to take this important step.”
