In Peru, the regions of Piura, Tumbes, La Libertad, Ancash, and Lima have been devastated by Cyclone Yaku, a surprise weather phenomenon that began 7 March, lingering for roughly a week.

Since September 1, 2009, the Church of the Nazarene's Global Ministry Center (GMC) proudly flies a flag each week of one of the many nations in which the denomination is present in ministry. Leaders were invited to send a national flag to be flown at the GMC alongside the flag of the United States*.

Doris Palma de Urcia, a pastor in Peru, passed away 19 August 2022. Doris served in pastoral ministry as co-pastor in the Urrunaga church. She was a tireless evangelist, both in outdoor services, in the church, and at a personal level.

Norine Grantz, 94, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away 24 April 2022. She was a retired missionary who served in Peru for 23 years.

Addie Garman, a missionary who served in Peru for more than 45 years, was laid to rest at the Nuevo Horizonte Mission Station during a memorial service attended by over a thousand people.

Ernesto Lozano, 75, of Chiclayo, Peru, passed away 5 April 2021. He was a retired minister, district superintendent, and rector of Seminario Teológico Nazarene in Chiclayo, Peru.

The Church of the Nazarene and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries responded to communities in the Madre de Rios region of Peru after heavy and constant rains caused the Tambopata, Madre de Dios, and Inambari rivers to flood over 3,500 homes.
