Retired missionary June Pauline Wallace of Largo, Florida, passed away 25 February. She was 101 years old.

Pauline was born in Watsontown, Pennsylvania, 1 June 1917 to L. E. and Myrtle Bower. After high school, she attended Bible college where she met and later married her first husband, Armand Doll.

In 1945, they were sent as missionaries to Barbados and then to Trinidad. Three years later, they were appointed as missionaries to Mozambique. While in Mozambique, Pauline served as a teacher in church schools. For a number of years, she operated a free school system for primarily illiterate children, which opened with 20 girls and grew to as many as 2,000 boys and girls learning to read each year. 

Armand and another Nazarene missionary were arrested and incarcerated in August 1975. Upon her husband’s release in 1976, they served as missionaries in 12 countries of the Caribbean area, retiring in 1981 to Lakeland, Florida. After Armand passed away, Pauline met retired minister J.C. Wallace, whose spouse had also just recently passed away. Pauline and J.C married in 1988 and lived happily together until his passing in 2009.

Pauline was a popular speaker in churches around the country, encouraging listeners to support missions around the world.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. 5 March at Wells Funeral Home in Plant City, Florida.
