Pensions and Benefits USA is holding open enrollment for group term life insurance through 30 September 2017 for persons under age 50. This means eligible ministers (or church-employed laypersons) and spouses may apply for Nazarene Supplemental Group Term Life coverage from Aetna Insurance without proof of health. 

“Every year we hear from district superintendents who contact us about ministers who die unexpectedly,” said Don Walter, director of Pensions and Benefits USA. “In many cases we can help the bereaved with a stipend, but it’s not enough to support a family over time. Our supplemental group term life insurance is very affordable and offers financial protection for a family in case the unexpected happens.”

During open enrollment, a new or additional $10,000 in Nazarene Supplemental Group Term Life Insurance coverage is available to eligible ministers or church-employed laypersons. A maximum of one-half of the new or additional amount of coverage is also available to dependents. This offer is extended to eligible church employees, spouses, and dependents who were no older than age 49 before 1 January 2017, and who have not been denied coverage since 1 January 2009.
