Prior to 1990, approximately 1.5 million Christians inhabited this middle eastern country. Country leadership at the time discouraged violence acts toward Christians. However, after the early 2000s, it was estimated that the Christian population dropped to around 800,000. In the 2010s, as a radical group began to gain momentum in the country, nearly all the remaining Christians fled, many moving west.
Today there is one Nazarene Church serving a city of 8 million people. This church, which began in 2003, is currently being held is a small building rented by the Nazarene Church. Approximately 80 adults and 120 kids attend this Church of the Nazarene. Excessive rent and utilities makes this the right time to find a permanent building for this congregation.
This project will help to fund the purchase of property and construction (or renovation) of a permanent church building that will serve as a home for this congregation. Click "donate now" to support this worthy effort.
