Panama traveling clinic provides medical services, shares the gospel with hundreds

A traveling clinic in Panama provided medical services for 626 people in four communities from 29 April to 2 May. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and the Panama Work & Witness team organized the event alongside a group of volunteers from Flint Central Church of the Nazarene in Michigan.

They began in the La Pita de Capira community where there is a newly organized church. They offered general medical care, vital sign, optometry, and pharmacy services to 220 people in the area. The volunteers shared the gospel with each patient after treating them.

The team went to Cirito de Capira on the second day, where there is another newly organized church. They served 138 people, and they shared the gospel with the patients here too.

On the third day, the team offered the same services to 138 police officers and community members in the Arraiján community, which will soon have its own church-type mission.

The Samaria Church of the Nazarene in San Miguelito hosted the team on the final day, where they served 130 people. Samaria Church Pastor Rolando Flores and Panama Work & Witness Coordinator Eliezel Soto thanked the local volunteers and the volunteers from Flint Central for serving these communities.

“It was marvelous to see how the Lord brought medicine for physical bodies and for souls in those communities — two of them with new churches, one soon to be a mission, and the last in a church that has been present for a long time,” said Joél Bermudez, Panama communications coordinator.
