Dr. Jeff Spangler Welcomed as the New NDI Administrative Director

Dr. Jeff Spangler began his official duties as the administrative director of NDI on February 12, 2024, in anticipation of the retirement of NDI’s administrative director, Rev. Larry Morris, on March 1, 2024.

Jeff comes to the Global NDI office with substantial ministry experience. He and his wife, Angela, are moving to the Kansas City area from North Carolina, where he served as the pastor of Fayetteville Church of the Nazarene and was the district NDI president. Before pastoring, Jeff served as an active duty army chaplain for 21 years. Before he entered active duty, Jeff served in the Church of the Nazarene in Plant City, Florida, and Caldwell, Ohio, respectively.

Jeff’s experience and education are excellent foundations for his new role as administrative director. Jeff has a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Trevecca Nazarene University (‘89), a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary (‘93), a Master of Liberal Studies with an emphasis in ethics from Kent State University (’07), and a Doctor of Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary (’16). In addition to his pastoral ministry, Jeff served on the faculty of Carolinas School of Ministry, the Board of Directors of Fayetteville Urban Ministries, as the chairman of care and bereavement for his local homeowner’s association, and as a consultant for Stronger Families (a charitable organization that seeks to strengthen the marriages of military service members and first responders).

Jeff enjoys training and competing in triathlons, driving and maintaining his very first car – a ’72 Chevelle, playing music, and spending time with his family. He and Angela together have five children and three grandchildren.
