Trevecca to offer online master’s degree with pastoral counseling focus
Trevecca Nazarene University’s School of Theology and Christian Ministry is launching a new emphasis within the Master of Arts in Religion degree this fall, aimed at preparing ministers for pastoral counseling.
The new pastoral counseling track is a 10-course, 30-credit hour non-licensure program. It will be offered entirely online. In addition to foundational religion courses, students in the program will participate in courses about counseling theories and techniques, marriage and family counseling, crisis intervention, and more.
“We are offering this program for pastors who are facing the onslaught of issues in human sexuality, addictions, marriage, and crisis situations,” said Dan Boone, Trevecca’s president. “This new track is a way pastors can become better equipped to meet the needs of congregants in an ever-changing world.”
The next start date for the Master of Arts of Religion degree is September 20. Learn more about this master’s program and the pastoral counseling track at online.trevecca.edu.
