MVNU to host Christian Women's Leadership Conference

Mount Vernon Nazarene University will host the Christian Women's Leadership Conference on October 25 and 26. The event features keynote speakers Jane Grote Abell and Carla Sunberg and involves a number of presentations, workshops, and group discussions.

This year's theme is Empowered by Grace. The conference is ideal for women in any leadership capacity, whether they have been in a leadership role for many years or simply want to improve their ability to lead in any situation. There will be presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and group discussions on topics such as understanding strengths, handling finances, and creating a leadership presence.

Jane Grote Abell, this year's banquet keynote speaker, is chairman of the board of Donatos Pizza. She joined the company in 1978 and has held a variety of positions there, including chief people officer and senior vice president of Development, Franchise Development. Abell is also a founding member of the Ross Leadership Institute and serves on the Board of Action for Children and Goodwill Columbus, Inc.

Carla Sunberg, this year's worship keynote speaker, is co-district superintendent of the East Ohio District. Over the years Sunberg has held many leadership roles in the Church of the Nazarene all over the world. She helped coordinate compassionate ministries and directed the program for theological education in the former Soviet Union and has taught in Europe, Asia, and North America.
